Happy Friday.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
We had a fabulous one. There is nothing better than getting together with my family.
I Love, Love, Love my family! =)
Today we are welcoming the Christmas season with Wide open arms.
Carols are blaring...hot cocoa simmering on the stove...
and the Tree is patiently awaiting it's grand entry inside from our back porch!
Each year our tree is chosen by Jeff and one of our five kids.
They are all on a scheduled rotation. Going with Dad on this grand adventure only happens every so often.
To them it feels like waiting for Haley's Comet to come back around.
Being only five and last in line on the list...This was Sophia's first time ever.
She was excited to say the very least. We heard chatter of the upcoming event all week.
When the time finally came she was like an overinflated balloon about to burst.
Christmas trees and Starbucks hot chocolate with Daddy...what could be better? Nothing.
Today's Fashion Tip....
Fashion For Your Home. {The Holiday Edition}
There are some people in this world who get very excited to deck the halls and string lights.
I am one of those people. So is my husband. So are my children.
There are many different ways, many different styles to choose from.
I like a more simple, cozy, country sort of feel to my decor.
{As I type, our house is being transformed into lighted bliss.}
So I thought I would offer a little advice on classy, simple Christmas decorating today.
But then I realized...everyone is different. and for different reasons. Not everyone Likes! classy, and simple.
While out with Jeff today, we bought a snow globe with the Three Wisemen inside.
When winded it plays Do You Hear What I Hear.
I told him..this silly thing will trigger happy Christmas memories for our kids.
(If it doesn't break before them..lol)
When I go back to my mom's house and see a certain ornament on the tree...it brings me back.
I am a Huge fan of traditions.
However I am Not a fan of tacky Christmas decor...but guess what? Kids are!
The more colorful, the more blinky, the more chimey the music, the better.
And sometimes...it's those tacky things they remember most.
The dog that sings Jingle Bells when you push it's paw, or the walking Swiss Elf thing on Granny's coffee table.
So instead of telling you Not to decorate your pink flamingo yard ornaments with mismatched blinking lights...(True story!).....I say, Go for it. If it makes you happy.
If it's part of your tradition, then by all means...keep it going!
Happy Decorating.
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.
